Trevor Noah called Donald Trump "a genius" on Wednesday night. No, seriously. He did.
The "Daily Show" host was highlighting the best moments of the President's press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and was floored by Trump's comments on a one-state and two-state agreement between Israel and Palestine.
“I can live with either one," Trump said. "If Israel and the Palestinians are happy ― I'm happy with the one they like the best.”

“Did this guy just tell us the problem like it was the solution?” Noah asked incredulously in the segment (above) before adding, "Watching Donald Trump's diplomacy is a surreal experience."
Noah noted "most leaders" struggle with approaching Israel with the sensitive topic of its construction of Israeli settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, which Amnesty International described as a "flagrant violation of international law" in an open letter to Trump on the issue. And Trump may have read it, because he casually told Netanyahu to "hold back on settlements for a little bit" in front of the entire world.
“I'm sorry, Donald Trump is a genius,” Noah said. “No one has ever thought to just straight-up ask Netanyahu to stop the settlements. He just asked him. He asked him like a neighbor telling him to turn down the music."

“Trump is either a genius or he is the biggest idiot the world has ever seen, because I honestly wonder if his plan is to be such a bumbling fool that Israel and Palestine are going to get together in a room and be like, 'I think we can both agree, this guy's a f--king moron. We better solve this problem before this guy tries to help out,” Noah said.
