Jennifer vents to Teresa and Dolores when they tell her the "insensitive," "offensive" and "ignorant" things Margaret said about her family and culture.
We were rooting for you, Margaret! We were all rooting for you!
"America's Next Top Model" reference? Anybody? No? Anyway, Wednesday's "Real Housewives of New Jersey" showed us a side of Margaret Josephs we weren't too happy to see.
Usually the nice and logical one of the bunch, Margaret said some pretty insensitive things about her Turkish co-star, Jennifer Aydin. As does everything in the land of Housewives, the news got back to Jennifer, and she was pissed.
'RHONJ' Newcomer Jackie Goldschneider Drags Co-Star Danielle Staub Amid Divorce and Abuse Allegations
View StoryWhile Jennifer was in Turkey celebrating the American equivalent of an engagement party for her brother and soon-to-be sister-in-law, Margaret, Teresa Giudice, Melissa Gorga and Jackie Goldschneider stopped by a charity function spearheaded by Dolores Catania.
It was actually a beautiful event, and everyone got along (earlier in the episode, Teresa and Jackie anticlimactically squashed their beef over coffee) -- until Margaret, Teresa and Melissa started talking about Jennifer's whereabouts.
"I guess it's their culture -- they knew each other two weeks, and now they're getting engaged," Teresa said of Jennifer's brother and his fiancée.
Margaret squinted her eyes and called the tradition "a little crazy."
"Their culture is you don't sleep with each other, and you get to know each other when you marry them," Teresa explained. Margaret was still confused.
"What happens if he was a dud the night of you-know-what?" she asked. Teresa replied, "If she'S old-school, she would stay with him."
"That's a life of torture," Margaret insisted.
'RHONJ' Tea: Jennifer Fumes When She Reads Jackie's Shady Newspaper Article Inspired By Her 'Spoiled' Kids
View StoryTeresa unknowingly added fuel to the fire when she said, "I think Jennifer thought that he was never gonna get married 'cause he's 45."
"Okay, so this was like, 'last licks, marry this guy now or it's f--king over'?" Margaret wondered bluntly. Melissa's mouth fell to the ground.
"But they did fall for each other," Teresa insisted. "She's leaving her whole family and moving here from Turkey."
"Oh, c'mon! He met her in Turkey? She could be mail-order!" Margaret stated with a hearty laugh. "She's expired like bad milk! Ha! I'm just kidding."
Both Teresa and Melissa were visibly uncomfortable.
A few days later, Teresa invited fellow "traditionalists" Jennifer and Dolores over for dinner. Jennifer beamed as she told the girls all about her family's big festivities.
"It's not like it's so much arranged," Teresa inquired. Jennifer clarified, "It's more like setting up as in for marriage. We don't force anybody to get married."
"And if you don't like each other then it's a no?" Teresa asked. Jennifer replied, "If you don't like each other then it's a no."
Danielle Staub Lashes Out at Estranged Husband as Wedding Episode Airs on 'RHONJ'
View StoryThat's when Teresa decided to fill Jennifer in on what Margaret said at the charity event.
"Mail-order bride?" Jennifer said with disgust. "That's very insensitive. Listen, Margaret's obviously very liberal. She puts it all out there about her cheating scandal. If I ever lived anything like that, I would not be very proud of it."
Dolores added that certain people are "very judgmental," which made Jennifer go off about the article Jackie wrote about her spoiling her kids. The ladies were all on the same page: Don't talk about people's husbands or children.
"I think it's safe to say that the three of us here understand a lot of old-school values, and the other side of the group maybe doesn't," Dolores said. Everyone agreed.
In the comfort of her confessional, Jennifer called Margaret "a shit-talker" who's "offensive" and "ignorant."
We have a feeling this feud is just getting started.
"The Real Housewives of New Jersey" airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m.
