The final Power of Veto competition determines the final three as the Jury House weighs in on everyone's gameplay so far.
At the start of the hour, we knew JC was in the Final Three on "Big Brother," and by the end of the night, we knew who was joining him.
JC got his HOH win when he needed it (though he still needs one more to make it to the end), saving his own skin and forcing the remaining three members of Level 6 to turn on one another. It all came down to the final Power of Veto competition. The winner of that competition determines who sits on the block, and who gets sent home.
Nevertheless, JC made his statement and intentions clear by putting both Angela and Tyler on the block. Tyler hoped that JC would honor their final two (that Tyler has no intention of honoring), and it was true that JC's target was Angela. But the only way he could secure her elimination was to win Veto himself.
"We're going to run this season like you'd run a department store. Each product, or Houseguest, may have come in with equal value, but pretty quickly you start to see that certain ones aren't working. First, you try discounting them to see if they can turn things around and become solid performers again. But if that doesn't work, it's time to put them on clearance so you can sell them out (the door). With that said, let's take a look at our inventory, ranked from our strongest performer to our weakest. But first, let's take a look at a couple of new spotlight items in stock this week."
SPOTLIGHT ITEM: Was There Any Doubt?
It took two strikes to get eliminated in the Veto competition this time, and immediately the girls came out and proved they were here to win. Weirdly enough, JC got two strikes in a row, followed by Tyler's two strikes and finally it was down to Angela and Kaycee.
These are the only two people to have won the Veto the five times prior to this, so it made sense. And Kaycee had won the vast majority of them, so it wasn't a huge surprise when she pulled out another victory, earning her way essentially through competitions into the finals.
Really, Angela winning was the only scenario that would have sent Kaycee home as we suspect Tyler would have kept Kaycee over her. As his farewell speech to Angela proved, he'd decided to stay true to the Final Two deal he made with Kaycee. He also keeps talking about that damned Power App he won and never used.
While not as obnoxious as the previous times he brought it up, it was just resume building and boasting and it looked really obnoxious. He runs the risk of annoying the jury if he's too cocky. And if he's up against Kaycee, who played a much cleaner game, that might tip the scales in her favor.
SPOTLIGHT ITEM: Jury House Overload
Things started getting crazy in the jury house as one by one, Haleigh, Brett and Sam made their way in. Everyone was excited-not-excited to see Brett, as it proved to them how tight Tyler and Angela are in the house. It's a good thing Tyler didn't betray her, then, as who knows how that would have played.
Honestly, the jury is sounding less bitter every time we check in on them, with some of them willing to respect the game Tyler has played. Ironically, Angela has played a very similar game -- both in competition wins and bold moves -- but she's not getting nearly as much credit. We really think the difference is in their social games in that Tyler was friendly with everyone and Angela came off more aloof and distant.
Honestly, we think it's going to come down to Tyler and Kaycee. Either of them beats JC in a Final Two scenario as his gameplay was apparently not noticed or appreciated. If they're up against one another, it could get interesting. Let's see how we think the votes would go.
- Bayleigh - Kaycee (she feels Tyler played a dirtier game)
- Rockstar- Kaycee (she targeted Tyler all game, but does that mean she respected his play?)
- Faysal - Tyler (Tyler did him dirty, but we don't think he'll vote so emotional again)
- Scottie - Tyler (Tyler did him dirty, but we think he'll respect the gameplay)
- Haleigh - Tyler (she respects how hard he played the game all summer)
- Brett - Kaycee (he feels personally betrayed by Tyler and Angela and hated their little schtick)
- Sam - Kaycee (she feels personally betrayed by Tyler through the whole game)
- Angela - Tyler (come on, did you even have to wonder)
If it really goes down that way, it'll come down to JC. We think he'll stand by his LGBTQ sister who never did him wrong personally, proving you don't have to play dirty to win this game. It's not easy, which makes it even more impressive that she pulled it off.
Of course, Kaycee and Tyler have to get to the end first for this to play out. And based on our unscientific analysis, Tyler's only chance now is if he takes JC to the end, which we really don't see him doing. He'll instead tout his Power App again.
Kaycee (up 1) appears to have the edge with the jurors, and her elimination of Angela could give her even more favor in their eyes. Giving loyalty to a Final 2 made so early in the game only adds to the integrity she has already portrayed in the game.
Tyler (down 1) is going to need to be a snake-charmer with his words in order to beat Kaycee. If JC beats the odds and wins the next HOH, too, we don't even see him picking Tyler to sit by him in the end. He played a game that he knew would get him far but prove challenging in the end. Talk to Paul Abrahimian about that. Sometimes it just isn't quite effective enough.
JC (even) needs to win HOH to have any shot at making it to the Final Two. And if he does get there, we're not even sure what argument he could make to convince the jury he's more deserving than Tyler or Kaycee. One advantage he has is that he won HOH when he needed to and saved himself, which no one in the jury house was able to do. Still, he's a good public speaker -- probably the best of the Final Three -- so he might be able to wriggle out a surprise upset.
Angela (even) was the logical choice to go based on existing alliances and relationships, but she may also have been the worst choice. Angela does talk with a bit of an aloof tone, so we could see her really turning off the jury when talking to them, and especially if she's boasting about herself (which she should do, of course). She played a game worthy of the half million, we're just not confident she could convince the jury of that over Kaycee or Tyler.
OVERHEARD IN THE CHECKOUT LANE
"It sucks so bad. We had one more target to get out and that target won HOH." --Kaycee
"We really wanted to make it to Final Three and I think we deserved it, but it's not gonna happen. It sucks." --Tyler
"Nobody saw this coming. How does this happen? It ruins all of our plans." --Angela
"I'm really just hoping JC is not too pissed at me and still wants to stick true to our Final Two." --Tyler (the same Final Two he will betray in a heartbeat)
"[Tyler], you've just been a bitch to me." --JC (explaining his nominations)
"We've been getting along great. I mean, Bayleigh can get a little snappy, but besides that, we've been okay." --Faysal (in jury house)
"Kaycee is playing the best game. She hasn't made any enemies and she's winning where it counts." --Rockstar
"What's up, losers? Who missed me?" --Brett (triumphant entrance into the jury house)
"This guy is a douchebag. What a tool. He's going to ruin my jury experience." --Rockstar
"They're so clever." --Brett (rolling his eyes at Angela and Tyler's "one step"-"two step" speeches)
"Right now the person I think is playing the best game would have to be Kayce, because she's made moves in the game but Tyler and Angela have all the blood on their hands." --Bayleigh
"The worst part about this is that they actually think they are the most epic game players ever." --Bayleigh "I mean, they're doing pretty good. We self-destructed the entire game." --Haleigh
"There's not really anything that makes me dislike [Tyler] on a game level because so far all that I've seen is great gameplay." --Haleigh
"If I do not win this and she win, I'm going home." --Kaycee (playing POV comp against Angela)
"Kaycee, my little Peanut, we all knew this day was coming, and this has been the hardest decision that you've had to make in this game, and I want you to know that we are bonded for life, us four, regardless of what happens. I cannot tell you how happy I am to be surrounded by my three best friends in the house sitting up here. I'm not about to stand here and campaign against Tyler, that would break my heart, and so I want you to know that whatever decision you make, I have the utmost respect and understanding and whatever you decide to do I will love you to death regardless." --Angela (save-me speech)
Kaycee, JC, I'm so proud of you guys making it to the final three, representing for the LGBT community. If anybody out there has any doubts how to truly be yourself and how far it can get you, just take a look at these two right here. Angela, you are the most beautiful, resilient person I have ever met in my life. You've taken nothing but shots in this game and in real life and you've jumped over them every single time flawlessly. That being said, anybody would be crazy not to be absolutely 100 percent in love with you." --Tyler (save-me speech)
'Alrighty guys, here we are, final four, soon to be final three. It has been crazy in this house together with you guys for 93 days, 24/7. Now both of my best friends are on the block. We have been dreading this moment. You guys are both competition beasts by far, and I do have a fun fact. Between the three of us, collectively, we have won 19 competitions. That is mind-blowing. We should be so proud of that. With that being said, on a personal level, I love you guys both. Tyler, you're like my brother, you know. You're so caring, you're just such as weet guy. I appreciate you every morning when you ask if anyone wants' some eggs. It means everything. You know I love you so much. Angela, we have been so close since the very beginning. People have been attacking you personally. Those are people who have no idea who you are personally. I know who you are, and you're such a beautiful person inside and out. You are so loving, you're smart, you're so talented and I am so honored to have met someone so special as you are. This is the hardest decision. I love you guys so much. I want you guys to know that this is strictly game, strictly game and I hope you understand. But I'm so sorry, Angela, I have to evict you." --Kaycee
"I don't know what the future holds, but I am so excited to start our next chapter, and I absolutely adore him. I am head over heels obsessed with him and I cannot wait to get to see him once we get out of here." --Angela (about Tyler)
