A "Morning Joe" panel unanimously agreed Tuesday morning that President Donald Trump's wiretapping claims about former President Barack Obama are a joke Washington should forget about and Trump should apologize for.
Host Joe Scarbarough wasn't present to weigh in, but Monday he shared news about the Justice Department requesting more time to provide proof to the House Intelligence Committee and tweeted, "This is a joke right? I'm not being a smart ass here but everybody knows Trump was lying about Obama and the FBI tapping him. EVERYBODY."
Co-host Mika Brzezinski asked everyone on the show if they shared the same sentiment and they all nodded, with a few adding, "Solid tweet."

"If the President was lying, don't you think at some point he oughta say, 'I apologize, I am just an idiot. I will not do that again, because it was idiotic,'" Brzezinski said. "It was an idiotic move. Does anyone here disagree it wasn't completely idiotic and embarrassing?"
She said Trump mouthpiece Sean Spicer only made things "worse" when he attempted to back pedal on the President's remarks in the White House briefing room. "If you look at the President's tweet, he said very clearly quote 'wire tapping,' in quotes," Spicer said. "That spans a whole host of surveillance type of options."
"This is ridiculous, and people are saying ridiculous with a look of alarm in their eyes when they describe this situation," Brzezinksi said. "Sean Spicer told reporters to direct their questions about the committee deadlines to the Justice Department and attempted to recast the meaning of the President's words."
