James Corden gave his viewers a sneak peek at what his Apple Music "Carpool Karaoke" series will look like without him in the driver's seat and fans weren't exactly thrilled about it.

During "The Late Late Show" on Wednesday night, the host showed a 2:00 segment from the series featuring "Girls Trip" stars Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith, Tiffany Haddish and Regina Hall.

The clip showed the group promoting their movie with megaphones and t-shirt guns, singing "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" and nearly getting into an accident before dubbing the show "Crashpool Karaoke."

While only a little taste of what's to come, comments on the show's YouTube page were concerned Corden himself didn't appear in the at all segment.

Here's just a sampling of the comments:

  • It's not the same without James
  • I missed James, in this Carpool.... He would have been much entertaining
  • Where is James at? He better get picked up later.
  • It's not a carpool karaoke without James
  • I'm sorry but it's not funny if James is not in it!
  • Carpool karaoke is the best with James. They tried to fix something that wasn't even broken.
  • Can't watch it without James. Just not fun.
  • Two problems with this... Apple Music and No James.... GurlBye.
  • They sounded really good and they were pretty funny but it felt really scripted and it is so much better with James. SO MUCH BETTER PLEASE PUT JAMES IN
  • So basically advertisement for a movie..... Girls trip... How is this carpool karaoke

Apple Music announced other upcoming pairings on the online-only series would include Miley, Noah, Billy Ray and the entire Cyrus family; Shakira and Trevor Noah; "Game of Thrones" stars Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams; John Legend, Alicia Keys and Taraji P. Henson.

LeBron James and Will Smith are also scheduled to appear, with Corden joining the action.

The full series premieres August 8 for Apple Music subscribers.
