Was Omarosa Manigault Newman fired by Donald Trump again? Did she quit? We may never know, but Twitter had a field day on Wednesday after it was announced the former reality star was kicked out of the White House.
Omarosa, a two-time contestant on Trump's "The Apprentice," will leave her position with the Trump Administration on Jan. 20, but it remains unclear if she was let go by chief of staff John Kelly, as some sources reported, or is resigning, as White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a statement.
"Omarosa Manigault Newman resigned yesterday to pursue other opportunities," Sanders said. "Her departure will not be effective until January 20, 2018. We wish her the best in future endeavors and are grateful for her service."
Regardless of how it happened, it was welcome news for many on Wednesday morning. On "The View", Joy Behar said, "Omarosa has 'retired' and I just wanna say, last time she was on the show she said to me, 'I hope you have some joy in your life.' Well, today I have found it."
Omarosa was portrayed as a "villain" during her run on "The Apprentice," which was at its ratings and cultural peak at the time, making her a household name. As she stood by Trump's side through his campaign, her detractors never stopped paying attention to her, and calling out all of her over-the-top antics, like showing up at the White House uninvited with her wedding party for an impromptu photo shoot earlier this year.
