This is an interesting casting move, considering how the Smith family is standing by former Kardashian-Jenner BFF Jordyn Woods.
Kanye West is adding television series producer to his resume.
On Wednesday, it was announced the rapper, alongside Scooter Braun's SB Projects, Westbrook Studios and writer Lee Sung Jin, are developing a Showtime anthology series with Jaden Smith to star as a young Kanye.
The show, titled "Omniverse," is described as a limited half-hour anthology series, that examines "the many doors of perception," Deadline reported. Season One will explore the ego through Kanye's alternative reality.
While Kanye is a multi-hyphenate in addition to appearing on wife Kim Kardashian's reality show, "Omniverse" will be his first TV series credit as an EP.
In addition to Braun and Jin, Kanye joins executive producers Scott Manson, James Shin and Miguel Melendez. Jaden also will serve as an EP on the project.
It's interesting Kanye is teaming up with Jaden after the drama that went down between the Kardashians and Jordyn Woods, who is very close with the Smith family.
Khloe Kardashian's Cleveland Cavaliers baby daddy Tristan Thompson got caught up in a cheating scandal with Kylie Jenner's then-BFF, Jordyn earlier this year. After the drama, Khloe and Tristan broke up. For the record this was the second time the NBA star was caught being apparently unfaithful to the Good American founder; the first happened just days before she gave birth to their child -- True Thompson, 1.
Following the rift between Jordyn and the Kar-Jenner family, the influencer went on Jada Pinkett Smith's talk show "Red Table Talk" to give her side of the story, which also stars Jaden's sister Willow and grandmother Adrienne Banfield-Norris.
The Smith family has stood by Jordyn, so it will be interesting to see how things will work out when Jaden and Kanye work together.
