"I've never been so sick in my life!!!" the actor said.
UPDATE at 12:07 p.m. on 7/2/19: Dean issued the following update on Tuesday, regarding his hospitalization.
"I just want to thank everyone from around the world for the love, support and well wishes. I am currently battling (hopefully just) pneumonia and am under close medical care but am staying positive and strong. I can't wait to be back in action and reunited with my beautiful wife Tori Spelling and kids and back in the studio with my boys Nicky Paris and Adam Hunter at The Comedy Store recording for #DaddyIssues!"
"So this happened last night. I got admitted to hospital with pneumonia, possibly meningitis," McDermott captioned a selfie (above) of him in the hospital with tubes up his nose.
"I've never been so sick in my life!!!!" he added. "Thumbs up and spirits up though."
McDermott, who shares kids Liam, 12, Stella, 11, Hattie, 7, Finn, 6, and Beau, 2, with wife Tori Spelling, concluded the post by telling his followers to check out Monday's episode of his podcast, "Daddy Issues," with cohosts Adam Hunter and Nicky Paris.
He wrote, "Don't forget to listen to @daddyissuesshow this morning at 9am. @theperezhilton is our guest. #sickasadog #aintnothang #thistoshallpass #blipontheradar."

McDermott's trip to the hospital came just one day after the former "Chopped Canada" host shared a video on Instagram where told his followers he was sick with a high fever and had injured his back. The latter of which occurred when he went to pick up a towel to dry his face.
"I'm so BUMMED!!! I've been laid out for 2 days because I threw my back out. Now I got hit with a fever of 102," he captioned the video. "I feel like a big pile o 💩!!!"
"How'd I throw my back out you ask?? Bending over to pick up a towel to DRY MY FACE!!! Epic fail!! How'd I get the 102 fever?? Courtesy of Finn McDermott," he added, referencing his 6-year-old son. "Needless to say it ruined the family's plans to fly to Vancouver today to see @torispelling & @stylishslimebystella."
"I tell ya, I'm going to be one ornery elderly person," McDermott joked. "I get really pissed off when I can't do things and move the way I want. And I'm already ornery as it is!! What's the lamest way you've injured yourself?? Please share. I need a laugh. #sick #backsout #injury #fever #grumpy #crustyoldman #ornery #blah #ivethrownmybackoutandicantgetup."
However, it looks like the father of six is now on the mend. A source close to McDermott told us Monday his fever broke and he's "hanging in there."
