Why Gwyneth Paltrow is Being Branded a 'F--king Extortionist'

Some Goop fans aren't happy with Gwyneth Paltrow.

According to Page Six, people who attended Goop's UK wellness summit over the weekend say they feel scammed. The attendees --- who shelled out $5,700 to attend the event -- were disappointed as they claimed the event turned out to be a weekend-long Goop sales pitch with only a few appearances from Paltrow, who one attendee called "pretentious" and "greedy."

Another person who attended the event told Page Six that a British guest was so "appalled" by the "aggressive" Goop hype she sent a WhatsApp message to other attendees, calling Paltrow a "f--king extortionist."

Those who attended the wellness summit were encouraged to book their hotel rooms at the Kimpton Fitzroy London Hotel through the Goop website. However, Goop charged $1,300 for two nights, but people later discovered the rates actually started at $250 a night, Page Six reported. The Goop room were suites and included a free breakfast -- gluten-free of course.

During a "health summit" -- where Paltrow was surrounded by security -- the actress shared some Goop ideologies with the audience, including how "creativity with your hands is like channeling God" and tips on hydrating "mindfully" with a sound bath. Paltrow offered a workout with her celebrity trainer Tracy Anderson.

An attendee said their experience was so bad, not only are they no longer a fan of Paltrow, but they felt like their values were negatively impacted by the summit.

"Gwyneth acts like she's a health goddess, but actually she's a pretentious, greedy extortionist," the attendee told Page Six. "She had a ton of security...She was unapproachable. She did the minimum -- a few fireside chats with Twiggy and Penelope Cruz, then she put on her Birkenstocks and snuck out."

The person added, "I was a huge fan of Gwyneth; now I feel like I have lost my faith in God."

A rep for Goop told Page Six the actual value of the summit was over $8,000 due to free extras like golden facials and "far-infrared gemstone therapy."

"In addition to walking around the summit, she also hosted an intimate workout class with Tracy... followed by... a panel, where she and Tracy answered attendee questions in an honest, casual setting," the rep said of Paltrow.

"We have not received negative feedback," they continued. "[It] was more along the lines of, 'Thanks for an amazing weekend!'"
