After an instant attraction during their first night in the "Famously Single" house, Malika Haqq and Ronnie Ortiz-Magro realized their relationship wasn't necessarily the connection they were hoping for.
"I haven't seen Ronnie since we broke up," Haqq told TooFab during the launch party at Avenue Los Angeles for Season 2 of the E! reality show. "We are not friends, but we are friendly. I'll say that."
"I did speak to him two days ago via text message and it was all love, but it's not like we go to dinner once a month," she said. "I wish him nothing but the best and he wishes the same for me, but it was just a relationship that didn't work out. We didn't know each other before the show so I don't really think we are missing out by not having each other in our lives."
She added that her relationship with the "Jersey Shore" alum was "genuine, real and a great time."
"As incompatible as we turned out to be, one of the things that was extremely compatible was our love language is comfort," Haqq said, "so when we're in such an uncomfortable environment, we became each others security blanket."
TooFab recently spoke to Ortiz-Magro in studio, where he had this to say about their previous relationship:
"Right off the bat, we had jokes with each other and we got each other's sense of humor, you know?" Ortiz-Magro said. "And it was just that comfort level and you really get to see [that] within the first 20 minutes. The connection was right from the jump."
"We knew that we were going through a bunch of different things and we just wanted to do it together and then after the show we realized that connection was a friendship. And that's what it was. The attraction was there, but we just didn't feel like pursuing it any further. We felt like we got what we were going to get out of it and now we just go our separate ways."
"Famously Single" premieres Sunday, June 25 at 10 PM ET/PT on E!
