It's not a good sign for the nation's confidence in its elected leader when so many citizens are happy to hop on an insult bandwagon started by a foreign enemy.
"#DotardTrump" was one of the top trends on Twitter Friday morning, in wake of North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un responding to President Donald Trump's threat to "totally destroy" the Asian country, which has been reportedly testing nuclear weapons and already engaging in a war of words with the United States.
"I will surely and definitely tame the mentally deranged U.S. dotard with fire," Kim said on Thursday, according to The Associated Press.
"Dotard," according to the dictionary, means an old person, especially one who has become senile and weak. But that's not all Kim called Trump, who has been busy referring to the dictator as "Rocket Man."
"Far from making remarks of any persuasive power that can be viewed to be helpful to defusing tension, he made unprecedented rude nonsense one has never heard from any of his predecessors," Kim said. "A frightened dog barks louder."
Trump responded Friday morning with tough talk of his own on Twitter:
Kim Jong Un of North Korea, who is obviously a madman who doesn't mind starving or killing his people, will be tested like never before!
