This week's #NewMusicFriday is dedicated to our girl, Katy Perry, who just released a cover of "Waving Through a Window" from the Tony Award-winning musical, "Dear Evan Hansen."
The pop star said she was "emotionally transformed" when she saw the production in April of last year and revealed that she's struggled with depression and "feeling alone in the battle of wanting to belong."

View Story"That night, I was particularly struck by the song, 'Waving Through a Window,'" she said. "It embodied the mental isolation I sometimes fought."
Perry said when she was asked if she wanted to cover the song to help launch the musical's national tour as well as continue the conversation about the complexities of mental health, she "jumped right in."
