The singer was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Tuesday, in a ceremony attended by her adorable family and featuring speeches from Ellen DeGeneres and "Reno 911" star Kerri Kenney-Silver.
"Today for me is a celebration of something that my dad taught me and that is, to thine own self be true," she said. "If you walk along this boulevard and you look at these names, there's a power that lies in that, 'to thine own self be true.'"
"There's a power in believing in yourself, there's a power in not giving up on life and not giving up on yourself and there's a power in making a decisions that you may not be the best who ever did it, you may not be the prettiest, or the tallest or funniest or most talented, or whatever it is you tell yourself you're not," she continued. "If you're stubborn and you don't give up and work really hard, no one else can ever be you."
Turning to husband Carey Hart, she exclaimed, "He's so cute," before thanking her "muse."
