Channing Tatum Teaches Daughter Boxing for Self-Defense: 'I Want Her To Feel Safe'

Channing Tatum is one protective papa and is teaching his young daughter how to stand up for herself as well.

The "21 Jump Street" star shared an adorable video via Instagram on Wednesday showing his 6-year-old girl, Everly, how to box -- complete with protective head gear and pink striped gloves.

"She love punching dad! This is only 1/16 how long this went for hahaha she an animal. We love wrestling and boxing. And we keep it fun," the actor began the caption.

He then explained his reasoning for the exercises, citing martial arts as a way to prepare for self-defense "without being afraid" as "fear most times leads to bad decisions."

"Being calm and secure with your mind and body -- Makes great opportunity for good decisions. Violence is 100% never the answer. But having a daughter i always want her to feel safe in her being," he wrote alongside the video.

"And god help the person that ever poke the beast inside this little angel," Channing joked at the end.

Fans were quick to take to the comments section in support of his decision as one wrote, "Go Evie!! A bit of self defense for anyone will never be a wrong decision, you are the only person responsible for you so learning how to protect yourself is surely a must," as another posted, "Good girl! Way to go for teaching her self defense. One of my best life choices I ever as a woman was to be involved in martial arts."

Actress/former MMA fighter Gina Carano also commented, "Haa 🔥🔥🔥 she really finds those openings."

Channing is a co-parenting champ for Everly with his ex Jenna Dewan, whom he split with in April 2018.

Jenna is currently expecting a baby with her new beau Steve Kazee, while Channing has been recently linked with British pop star Jessie J.
