Paris Jackson's cover issue of Harper's Bazaar has turned sour for the budding model and actress, who is slamming the media for "misquotes" after various outlets zeroed in on a quote that suggested she was Michael Jackson's favorite child.
The interview by "Sex and the City" author Candace Bushnell covers her career, that Parisian photo shoot, her struggles with depression following her father's death, and her laid-back lifestyle in Los Angeles; but many publications (including TooFab) were intrigued by an exchange where Paris said she was treated as the "favorite" by her famous father.
"I wasn't around a lot of other girls," she told Harper's Bazaar. "When I was a kid, I was with my dad and my two brothers. Growing up, I was treated as the favorite because I was the only girl. I was the princess; I was perfect in my dad's eyes."
The "favorites" line wasn't her only complaint with the media's take on her big interview.
In response to BreatheHeavy saying Paris "understands her famous father will be a talking point for the rest of her life, and it makes her sad," she tweeted, "More word twisting, wow you guys are good. What makes me 'sad' is the manipulation and lies from grown adults towards a teenager just for $$."
